Connecting Sensors to the Games Port Interface

The potentiometers in a joystick are usually 100k ohms. When choosing sensors to connect to the port, it is best to select ones with a similar resistance. The Dick Smith "General Purpose NTC Thermistor (Cat R-1797 - $AUS1.75)" is ideal. It has a resistance of 100k ohms at 25C. Its resistance drops by 5% for each degree C increase in temperature. For light measurement, the Dick Smith "Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) (Cat Z-4801 - $AUS1.95)" works well.

The sensors can be connected to the interface using sections cut from a "12 Pole Terminal Block (Dick Smith Cat-P-4855 - $AUS1.95)". See below...
